Ace Hotel, the Portland-based brand known for its eclectic properties, is expanding with two locations scheduled to open within the next year: one in Pittsburgh, in December, and another planned for New Orleans in mid-2016. They will join six other properties including ones in Seattle, Portland and New York City.

The Ace Pittsburgh hotel, with 63 rooms, will be located in a century-old former YMCA building in the heart of the city’s culturally diverse East Liberty neighborhood. With 234 rooms, the Ace New Orleans will be significantly larger and will be housed in an early 20th-century Greek Revival building. The New York City-based designer firm Roman and Williams, which is behind the Ace New York hotel, will design its Art Deco interiors.
