Art auctions break billion-dollar barrier

 

Christie’s had a monumental week last week, selling $1.36 Billion of art.  According to  Abigail Asher, of art consultants Guggenheim Asher Associates, “The past few years have been building up to this moment; a new class of buyer has entered the market and they’re prepared to pay staggering sums for trophy pictures.”
